Dr Alan Poggio

After graduating from the University of Queensland, Dr Alan Poggio completed his early training at several north Queensland hospitals and abroad. Once he had attained fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, he returned to work in rural general practice for ten years in his hometown, Ingham.
While also working as a clinical tutor for the JCU School of Medicine and a supervisor for General Practice training, he developed a keen interest in skin cancer medicine and surgery. This resulted in his relocation to the Sunshine Coast to work full time in a skin cancer practice while undertaking the diploma of skin cancer medicine and Surgery with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. He also has completed the advanced certificate of dermoscopy (distinction).
Dr Poggio has advanced diagnostic and surgical skills and is accredited with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia.
Dr Phoebe Chisnall
MBBS, FRACGP, CertSCM (SCCA), CertDerm
Having been raised on a dairy farm on the Atherton Tablelands, Dr Phoebe Chisnall went on to study medicine at James Cook University in Townsville. While completing requirements for fellowship exams with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and working in various towns across North Queensland she developed a keen interest in skin cancer medicine.
Subsequently Dr Chisnall completed Certificates in both Primary Care Skin Cancer Medicine and Dermoscopy with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. She and is now working toward becoming a College Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor which involves extensive training over 2 years and a rigorous exam process. She has an interest in teaching, hosting a melanoma awareness initiative for the public during her time in Cairns and leading educational sessions in skin cancer medicine for other medical practitioners.
Dr Phoebe is currently working towards Skin Cancer College Accreditation.
Ms Joanne Fortini
Northern Sun Skin Cancer Clinic is fortunate to have Ms Joanne Fortini as a clinical assistant with extensive nursing experience. Joanne has registered nursing level training and is a vital part of providing quality care to patients.
Ms Dominique Hunter
Clinic Reception and Management
Ms Dominique Hunter performs reception and management duties and was a valuable addition to the clinic staff in 2016. She is available during opening hours to make or alter appointments and to answer any queries regarding the services provided or fees payable.
